“Since early childhood, I have been acutely aware of, and touched by, the animal carnage found strewn along our roadways.  People have become anesthetized to the lives that once were and the ways that we are intimately connected to them.  To me, working with road kill is an ideal way to explore both the uneasy relationship we have with animal life, as well as the current environmental and cultural landscapes in which this relationship is being played out.

In the inert and broken bodies, I see an intrinsic beauty and importance.”
